Scope of Proposed Operations
This project, starting in April of 2019, with an expected completion date of August 2019. Early enabling work also be completed during the winter break 2018/2019. The project scope involves:
- 30 dorm unit renovation. Gut renovation of kitchens and bathrooms with new carpet and VCT throughout the common rooms of the dorm units. Minor painting/patching in the bedrooms.
- Façade – Removing the front center section of the exterior façade. (same as we did at BCRubenstein hall this past summer.) Demo existing granite, brick backer, and curtain wall. Replace in kind with CMU, new granite, and new curtain wall.
- Basement Renovation (Both A & B wings): Demoing out existing offices, lounges, laundry room. Trenching for underground plumbing, backfill, concrete slab infill, fit out new dorm units in these spaces along with a new laundry room, lounges, RA office, Etc. There will be some added structural beams/lintels to widen up some openings for new doors.
The majority of the above work will be taking place in Tower B and will involve all floors plus basement. Consigli completed a similar project in Tower Q in 2017. Project hours will be between 7:00am and 3:30pm Monday through Friday unless otherwise approved by Consigli Construction. At its peak this project will employ 10-20 workers representing several different trades.
Purpose :
The purpose of this Site Specific Safety and Health Program is to illustrate Consigli’ s approach to identifying project specific hazards and controls and how said risk is managed through a comprehensive Safety and Health Program.

Identify the specific route in and out of the construction site (Traffic Management): All deliveries and waste removal shall be done using the entrance on East elevation and shall be coordinated with CCC with at least 48 hours’ notice. All contractors will be responsible for adhering to Boston College and Newton, MA restrictions and regulations in regards to driving, parking and delivering materials. Pedestrians will be given the right of way at all times. Parking will not be assigned, and all crew members are required to adhere to Boston College parking requirements.
Designated work hours (any work outside these hours must have prior CCC approval): All work shall take place during business hours, Monday – Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm, any work which may need to take place outside of these hours will need to be approved by the CCC Superintendent.
